June 7 2008 - Northeast Illinois

On a moderate risk day when many chasers flocked to Iowa and Minnesota, an isolated supercell went up along a boundary in nothern Illinois and went absolutely insane. I documented four separate large damaging tornadoes over a span of two hours heading into the southern suburbs of Chicago. Had this event occured just 20 miles further northeast, it could have been catastrophic.
June 3 2008 - Manchester Illinois

Outflow boundaries can do magical things. On a day with very limited vertical shear, an outflow boundary helps a minisupercell produce intermittent classic tornado touchdowns.
May 22 2008 - Western Kansas (Part 1)

A major storm system produces a High Risk tornado event. Part one of our chase videos from this day shows the first rope tornado near Grainfield Kansas, and the dusty mess near Collyer.
May 22 2008 - Western Kansas (Part 2)

Part two from this day features the twilight tornado near WaKeeney Kansas from very close range.
May 22 2007 - Saint James Kansas

An isolated beautifully structured supercell near Interstate 70 in western Kansas finally produces a brief  but photogenic tornado. The tornado only fully condensed briefly at times, but was on the ground for most of the funnel's lifecycle.
May 21 2007 - Glen Ullin North Dakota

Rather than heading south for the next days event, Mark Sefried and I decided to try for both days and got a pretty tornado from an isolated supercell in southern North Dakota.
April 24 2007 - Nickerson Kansas

A gorgeous supercell produces intermittent tornado touchdowns near Nickerson Kansas.

May 23 2008 - Western Kansas

On day 2 of a major severe weather event, we get up close and personal with the "Bear's Cage" of a nasty supercell that produces incredible RFD winds near 100 mph that snap and uproot healthy pine trees next to my car.
August 13 2007 - Foley Minnesota

Due to lack of tornadic potential and poor terrain I let a beast supercell overtake me near Foley Minnesota. I placed myself perfectly in the most intense part of this supercell and get absolutely creamed by high winds and large hail. At one point the camera briefly shows my side window plastered with pieces of vegetation and mud.
April 25 2008 - Farmingdale Illinois

Intercept of an outflow dominant supercell in western Illinois brings on 70 mph (confirmed by local airport) winds.
May 15 2007 - St. Joseph Illinois
May 20 2008 - Rapid City South Dakota

LP supercell produces mid level funnel clouds and tons of blowing dust across southeastern South Dakota.

July 16 2007 - Eastern Iowa

Extreme instability leads to explosive supercell thunderstorms in eastern Iowa along an outflow boundary. No tornadoes were produced that I saw, but beautiful HP structure was very plentiful.
